Punjabi music icon Diljit Dosanjh addressed the controversy surrounding his Hyderabad concert during the Indian leg of his Dil-Luminati tour. Ahead of the show at GMR Arena, Telangana authorities issued a notice restricting him from performing songs that allegedly promote alcohol, drugs, and violence. Additionally, the use of child dancers was prohibited, citing concerns about loud sounds and flashing lights affecting their health. Despite these restrictions, Dosanjh delivered a stellar performance, subtly addressing the censorship. Without directly targeting anyone, he expressed frustration over the double standards for local versus international artists, noting that foreign performers often face no such limitations. “Some people cannot digest the fact that such big shows are happening and tickets are selling out in two minutes,” he remarked, emphasizing his years of hard work and consistent dedication to his craft. The incident didn’t deter his momentum, as Dosanjh continued to captivate audiences in his sold-out shows across India. Following Hyderabad and Ahmedabad, the tour will proceed to cities like Lucknow, Pune, Bangalore, and Chandigarh, concluding in Guwahati on December 29. Fans lauded Dosanjh for addressing the issue gracefully and continuing to deliver exceptional performances.
