A high-level delegation from the International Cricket Council (ICC) is set to visit Pakistan to assess the country’s preparations for the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy, as reported by Geo News. The visit will take place over five days and is expected to be the final inspection before the tournament kicks off next year.
The inspection team, consisting of six members including heads and representatives from various departments, will begin their evaluation in Rawalpindi, followed by assessments in Lahore and Karachi.
During the visit, officials from the ICC and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will discuss key aspects of the event, such as practice matches, venues, ticketing, and the tournament schedule. The PCB will also present a detailed report on upgrades to the stadiums. A budget of Rs12.80 billion has been allocated for the renovation of Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, National Bank Cricket Arena in Karachi, and Rawalpindi International Cricket Stadium.
This marks the return of the Champions Trophy after an eight-year break, with the last edition held in 2017, where Pakistan secured a memorable victory against India in the final. The 2025 event will take place from February 19 to March 9.
