The Pakistani documentary Songs of the Sufi (SOTS) won the Best Documentary — Audience Choice Award at the 15th Chicago South Asian Film Festival. The film showcases the classical qawwali tradition through the Qawwal Bachay Gharana, along with contributions from artists, scholars, and devotees.

Using Sufi-inspired art and Mughal miniature paintings, the film offers a visual and musical journey into the heart of qawwali. Festival Director Jigar Shah praised its direction and emotional depth, while Director Sharukh Waheed and Producer Kamran Anwar expressed their gratitude for the recognition, hoping the film’s message of unity and tolerance continues to inspire.
